Rambling Image Trekker

Are you a person who likes hiking/ photographing and promoting the great outdoors ?. If so I’m trying to ascertain if there is enough like-minded people out there who might like to be part of an informal group that would do just that. The aim is to form a group of people for anyone who enjoys scenic landscape photo hikes/walks throughout the countryside of the West of Ireland.

The hikes will be rated as moderate for anyone with average fitness levels and some hiking, rambling or hill walking experience. More strenuous and navigational skillful hikes e.g. photographing sunsets and sunrises from altitude on the local mountains and hills or night shoots for the purpose of astrophotography will be considered according to the needs/wants and experience of the group once known. It is important to note that this group will cater to the needs of the photographer which means that there will be frequent stops on the hikes and the nature of which may not suit hikers that like to go at a fast pace.

Starting off the intention will be that all photographic hikes would take place on a one per month basis and held on a Saturday or Sunday. Various locations would include the West and North Mayo coasts, all the mountain and lake land areas of County Mayo. Popular and well noted hiking trails and loop walks such as The Western Way, The Bangor Trail, Sheskin Forest Trail and Letterkeen etc. etc. would feature strongly In the planning of the treks.
